St George's Day Parade
28th April 2024
Wateringbury joined the other Scout groups of Maidstone East and West in the St George's Day Parade on Sunday 28th April. We formed part of the several-hundred person procession through the main street, cheered on by members of the public and the Mayor of Maidstone to the All Saints Church. Once inside, all members renewed their Scouting promise and commemorated the life and courageous acts of St George, the Patron Saint of Scouting.
As part of the ceremony, money was collected for an endeavour by our former County Commissioner Dean Harding to take underprivileged children on a trip to Disneyland Florida. Tragically Dean passed away unexpectedly in late February and was unable to see this vision come to fruition, however the plans for this trip are going ahead as part of his outstanding legacy, and if you wish to donate to this amazing cause you can do so here.
