Explorers Win Big!
On Saturday 10th November our Explorer Scouts were presented with some very prestigious awards!
The Explorers were recognised for their commitment to their community with the Kent Community Award for their amazing work with one of our close friends at their farm which helps young persons and adults with disabilities to learn skills that we all take for granted.
Our Explorers, amounst other projects, have constructed a large ramp to assist persons in wheel chairs to mount a horse and allow them to enjoy horse riding! Simon, the section leader, was awarded the Presidents Award for his commitment to the unit and young person.
The Young Leaders were also recognised for their outstanding commitment to the sections in Wateringbury and forming that vital link between the older leaders (me!) and the young persons! These awards show that the Explorers in Wateringbury continue to break the stereotypes of young people, they are an outstanding group and continue to impress me with their dedication, determination and personal qualities in leadership, teamwork and personal development, long may they continue to be recognised!
A MASSIVE CONGRAULATIONS from all the leaders and youths at Wateringbury, you make us so proud!
